Dangerous goods

Port of Ploce Authority has issued Regulation on Handling Hazardous Substances, Defining Class and Quantity of Hazardous Substances, Locations in the Port of Ploce for Handling Those substances and Measures that Have to Be Undertaken by Port of Ploce Authority and its Concessionaries in Order to Handle Hazardous Substances and Operating instructions regulating the handling of dangerous goods at the port in accordance with the Requirements and Manner of Loading and Unloading Hazardous Substances, Bulk and other Freight in Ports, and Manner of Preventing Spreading of Oil pollutions in Ports (OG 51/05)
Notifying the port of arrival of dangerous goods

Captains, owners or forwarders, or concerned shipping agents with ships carrying dangerous goods to be loaded/unloaded at the port or re-shipped to another place must notify the Ploce Port Control Center of the Port of Ploce Authority and provide Declaration of dangerous or polluting goods carried by the ship or vehicle NOT LESS THAN 48 HOURS  before arrival, in order to be checked and distributed among the concerned parties.

The information must include the following:

SHIPS PARTICULARS -
Ship's name and specific data and date of arrival

VEHICLE PARTICULARS -
Kind of vehicle,Number and mark of vehicle,Estimated time of arrival in port, Container/vehicle Packing Certificate (MULTIMODAL DANGEROUS GOODS FORM)

CARGO INFORMATIONS:
    All details concerning the storage of dangerous goods on the ship/vehicle/container
    Types of dangerous goods according to the I.M.D.G. Code, the existing
quantity of each type, number of pacakages and weight of each package
    The list must also clarify other dangeorus goods on the ship which will be
shipped to other ports, if applicable.
    The list must clarify the following data:

- technical name and code number
- shipping marks and Bill of Lading No.
- Quantity of explosives or dangerous substances

In case of inability to sent the Declaration of dangerous goods within a period not less than 48 hours prior arrival and before it enters at the port, the Declaration should be sent at the latest upon departure from the previous port (ship) or departure from place of loading (vehicle) if the duration of the voyage is less than 48 hours.
