Port of Ploce free zone

> in croatian
Almost all of the port area is a free zone area since the Croatian Government issued an approval for 30-year period to the Port of Ploce Authority.

According to the Law on Free Zones, the following activities are allowed in the free zone, covering a surface area of 214 hectares: production, finishing works, port activities, wholesale trade and mediation, provision of services, banking and other money transactions as well as insurance and re-insurance of property and people.

The attractiveness of the Port of Ploce Free Zone for potential investors is based on the following key facts:

geo-traffic position of the Port of Ploce vis-a-vis potential market ( the vicinity of the Bosnia and Hercegovina, EU specially Italy and and Central European countires);
savings on land transportation costs;
the existing infrastructure in the port area;
port capacities and manpower for cargo reloading and storing , and other transportation and trade services especially value-added services;
legal incentive measures for profit tax exemption, VAT, taxes and customs duties.
